E3 Preview: Xbox 360
July 14-17th are just another couple days for some people, but in the gaming world, it is proof there is a gaming god. These four days are what is know as E3, which is the biggest gaming convention ever. The tradeshow covers news on all the consoles, upcoming games, and new features that gamers across the country live to hear. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 was one of the main topics of the year due to the new update coming this fall. The update is said to change gaming as we know it.
This change will consist of many different little details, but some of the main parts are the new user-friendly look. Along with the new look, Microsoft has added a feature that allows you to make an avatar that resembles yourself, which is similar to the same features the Wii provides. You can use these avatars to hold an Xbox live “party” anywhere you wish. The party can hold up to eight games and this will allow you to go from playing your favorite game right into watching your favorite movie with your friends.
They are also adding a new section to the Xbox live menu called Primetime. This allows you to play mini games with your party such 1 vs. 100 and UNO. If you are a Netflix member you are also in luck. Microsoft and Netflix are teaming up to make your movie viewing easier then ever. You can pick the movies and TV shows you want from your Netflix queue and instantly watch them via Xbox. This will be at no additional costs whatsoever. Microsoft was also proud to announce the upcoming game titles of 09. These games are some of the most anticipated titles of all time and the list of games goes on and on. Some of the hottest titles include; Guitar Hero IV, Rock Band 2, Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, and last but certainly not least, Finial Fantasy XIII, which is no longer a Playstation exclusive. This was one of the biggest and most exciting days for Xbox 360 owners everywhere, and the competition will have a tough time keeping up with the leader in the gaming community.
